All of the predictions that we are now officially in a recession have become true. As companies try to determine the best course of action for 2009, workers are looking at alternative avenues for employment.
“Flexible workers have been used at increased rates when the economy is recovering from a recession. During such uncertain economic times, flexible work arrangements allow companies to add much-needed jobs, yet still manage the risk that economic recovery will falter. After two of the most recent recessions, 1981-82 and 1990-91, temporary employment in the United States grew by 15.6 percent and 18 percent respectively, compared with 3.5 percent and 1.8 percent growth in overall employment for the same periods. Companies sometimes need to dramatically increase production during the period immediately following an economic recession, and temporary workers provide the means to do so.” Source is A Flexible Workforce by American Benefits Council.
As a result, we at JL Nixon Consulting are expanding our contract / temporary services to assist both employers and candidates with staffing solutions that best fit their
individual needs.
